Google is increasingly showing AI-generated summaries at the top of search results before any links. For local service businesses, this means your website content, specifically how clearly you describe what you do and who you help, is more important than ever.

What to do: Review your homepage and Google Business Profile. Make sure they answer 'who is this for?' and 'what specifically do you do?' in plain language. Vague descriptions get skipped by AI summaries.

Three of the trades industry's biggest software platforms, Jobber, Housecall Pro, and ServiceTitan, have all shipped genuine AI features over the past several months: auto-drafted quotes, AI-written customer messages, and a natural-language business assistant. Jobber is the one that's actually available to UK tradespeople right now.

What to do: If you already use Jobber, turn on quote automations and try the AI chat assistant on one real question about your business. If you don't use any of these platforms yet, it's not worth switching just for this, but worth knowing Jobber's AI features are live and UK-available if you're choosing between platforms.
